uPVC Roofline | Guttering · Fascias · Soffits | Repair & Replacement

Roofline Repair Specialists in Bicester, Thame & Oxford

The roofline is the boring bit of the roof. Most homeowners never think about it until water's running down the wall instead of into the gutter, or until the soffit board has rotted and birds are nesting in the eaves.

We handle the full range of guttering, fascia, and soffit repair and installation work across Oxfordshire homes. Replacements for tired old wooden boards, full uPVC upgrades, repairs to damaged sections, and proper cleaning and maintenance.

When You Need Roofline Work

Water spilling over the gutter

Most common cause is blockage. Second most common is sagging brackets. Third is a damaged or split gutter run. All fixable.

Visible rot on fascia boards

Wooden fascias have a working life of around twenty years. After that, water gets behind them and they soften. Replace before the roof structure underneath is affected.

Stained or stained-looking soffit boards

Soffit boards are the underside of the eaves. Stains usually mean a leaking gutter has been dripping behind them. Sort the gutter first, then assess the soffits.

Birds or squirrels in the eaves

Gaps in soffits or between fascia and wall are an invitation. Once they're in, the nest causes its own damage. Worth blocking before nesting season.

Water on the wall below the gutter line

Either the gutter is overflowing or the downpipe is blocked or detached. Either causes long-term damage to the wall behind, including damp inside.

Aged uPVC needing replacement.

Modern uPVC roofline lasts twenty to thirty years. Older installations from the 1990s onwards are getting toward replacement age now.

Common Questions

  • Do my fascias and soffits actually need replacing or can they be painted?

If the wood is still solid, painting them is fine. If they're soft to the touch or have visible rot, replacement is the only proper answer. We tell you straight at the inspection.

  • Can I have black or wood-effect uPVC?

Yes. Modern uPVC roofline comes in lots of colours and finishes, including convincing wood-grain effects. We talk through the options at the inspection so you can pick what suits the property.

  • Will new soffits help with condensation in the loft?

Yes, if your existing soffits aren't ventilated. Modern soffits include built-in ventilation strips that let warm moist air escape the loft. Common upgrade on older properties with damp insulation problems.

  • Do you do gutter cleaning separately?

    Yes. See gutter cleaning.
